Introduction
♦ Salinity Sensor consists of platinum black conduction electrode and corresponding conditioning circuit. It calculates concentration of salinity by measuring concentration of conductivity in macroion solution. The increment of concentration of ion in solution will increase conductivity. Current is direct proportional to conductivity.
Usage
♦ Connect Salinity Sensor to any port in SenseDisc.
♦ Immerse the probe into solution. Collect data when the electrode becomes stable.
♦ When the experiment is completed, rinse the probe using distilled water immediately. Dry it using filter paper. Cover the probe and preserve it in bag.
Notes
♦ Try to avoid impurity in water remains on probe so that experimental result is affected.
♦ Rinse the probe using distilled water after measuring. Wipe the water and preserve it in dry place.
♦ Do not stir water using probe otherwise it may damage the probe.
Typical experiment
Typical experiment
♦ Explore the relationship between salinity and conductivity of seawater.
♦ Detect salinity of solution.
